really good advice above! I recently watched this course on artstation learning https://www.artstation.com/learning/courses/0ol/introduction-to-modular-architecture/chapters/zYEK/intro Its free to watch, and while you're not using unreal I still think its a decent reference or inspiration for putting together a scene like…
Most of the high-poly is modular so i can re-use it over and over again, some of it is not so modular and because of it have hindered me a bit. Gonna try to knock this out of my system asap! :P
So I need to whip up some buildings for a game and im drawing a blank on how i should go about doing it. i.e, for a building like this: I always hear it should be done with modular pieces, but which bits should be made modular?
Hello guys, these are assets modular in Demon Dungeon - our internal project. All modular are stylized handpaint with the dark yellow-blue tone to create an ancient dungeon environment atmosphere! See more hires at: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/rRBPgO
The important thing to remember about working in an engine is that you need to try and get assets into the engine as soon as possible. This doesn't mean waiting until the asset is finished. I usually try and do it once I get the basic shapes down. I'll import the asset into the engine and see if my forms/shapes are working…
Before you start modeling, try to plan for reuse. Have you studied modular workflows? A great deal of your scene can be made from modular pieces, which will save you time and effort (and look good in a folio).
Can you post some wireframe of your modular parts please? Because I tried once to make modular walls but the seams were so visible in the shadows... and you dont seem to have any objects covering the seams
Hello there! I'm working on this piece right here and I really apreciate some tips and critiques! It's my first piece in Unreal and the first modular and external too. The pic represent my attemp into the lighting and composition, later I'll build one more modular kit for buildings and refine stuff.
Hey guys! It's been a while. I've created modular pieces and currently working on Tileable textures. So I thought to post some of my progress on how the basic models turned out with modular pieces. Your feedback is really appreciated! :)
