Max, ZBrush/Mudbox, learning Modo and loving it. I'm guessing this is for primary content creation. Didn't bother hitting 'other' for the Xnormal/Photoshop/Crazybump etc that's in the pipeline.
Hardly doing game art these days but if I do I use max. For archi stuff uni is stuffing maya down our throats, for that I prefer Rhinoceros, which is not listed.
3DS Max & Maya for your day-to-day modeling / random 3D necessities, including some unwrapping Zbrush for sculpting Crazybump for beautiful normal maps for tileable textures Headus UV Layout for organic unwrapping
I'm grabbing the 2011 Maya build, I'd like to see how t runs on my Mac so that I don't have to boot into Windows, use virtualisation or use my slower Windows PC to run Max.
Love XSI but it's soo rare no one use's it in the uk game dev apart from Lionhead and Digi-Guys, although i think Bizzare Creations may still use it. Know maya and max equaly good, abit of modo and lightwave. Houdini gives me a headache.
Modo is great for modeling/UVing stuff. The "problem" occurs when you need to submit your files to your client and they really want Max or Maya files. EDIT: If you can get away with submitting LXO, or OBJ, then you should be fine. FBX, and Collada are also available but seem to have some problems from time to time.
3ds max and Zbrush here ! I really want to try XSI but i don't have the time :( Though I used maya on a previous game i was working on, but I never work with it at home :D (just becasue we had a "inhouse" UI and i can't find all I need with the basic UI (there's just too many stuff :D)). I don't think you had to. Because…
