crazy weird sec. My suggestion would be to ditch the hair, or spread it through the body. As it is it looks out of place. Secondly, the eyes are cartoony. Its ok to have huge eyes, but grab some ref on creatures with huge eyes. Gotta work it off from nature in one way or another. Next, The head shape seems a bit too…
Bloom is good for slime and lava surfaces (needs shader bloom through), or for dreamy flashbacks in scripted story telling mode . GL_ext_env_combine (?) - can push the lighting in q2 to another level (i guess its a sort of defuse light(map). But it looks good enough (grrrrr:) - th gun is sexy.
Neo_God: Heh, that's cool... although I'd have to say that the flesh shadows (especially at the top of the image) are looking too desaturated and grey, IMHO it'd really improve it if you kept the same values, but saturated them more and pushed the hue towards red. Same with the bottom of her right leg.
Ruz, dig the veins and muscles in the neck, really nice. I picked up some of the greens from the grass in the the stone and the browns from the stone in the grass as suggested, also added some deeper shadows. Thanks for the crits, they're really helping me to push this one to the finish line. Fullbright screencap::
ninjas, looking cool! even if this was just a quick mock-up, it's still very forceful and double-take-inducing. agree with kdr's crit abou the feet and would only add a touch more ambient light into the mech and a touch more blue into the mech's cast shadow. if, that is, you feel like pushing it further. nice!
Tinman: That's looking awesometown. Only thing that sticks out to me is that the transition from nostrils to face seems too soft; maybe push the "intersection line" on the sides a bit towards the center so the nostrils overlap the surrounding area a bit? It would be cool to have some dried-up cracklies in the paint. Can't…
ThatDon: Great character. Love the proportions. Tully: Cool stuff. The body looks great but the head needs more love. Darksun: Nice start, though be careful and resist the urge to go into the higher levels too early. You can push the lower forms a lot further. Took a break from my main stuff to do a simple head study.
and i see you're pushing your sickness back onto your work! good stuff KP, those are some really detailed chompers. and TGZ, i just want to say that it's been enjoyable watching your skill progress. the PSP-spec zombie town deal was very cool to see, and that "Next Level" art test is looking good too. keep it up, buddy.
Joakim, Hot! You're really pushing yourself in zbrush i'm loving it. Thats one nasty looking beast. I know the webpage isn't updated yet. I wanted to update it with some new content all at the same time but i seem to be having a hard time comming up with anything lately. How'd you start on this one? Zspheres or a cage from…
Haha the scrooge bust is really cool, I like the little spectacles and sideburn planes :P The collar is looking a little "granny" to me though, maybe sharpen the corners like a more conventional guy's collar? Unless you wanted to preserve the neutral pose, maybe you could try pushing the slightly sour expression he has…
