http://www.research.rutgers.edu/~timgerst/ Was wondering what you guys think of this? Using an algorithm to take away the time consuming nature of creating pixel art seems really useful. However, I don't know what it would mean for pixel artist. Surely, if a computer can do just as good a job as pixel artist, then they…
Hey guys, is there a way I can make my UV islands and whatnot snap to actual pixels. It's very frustrating that Max doesn't have all that much support for it by default, and it sure makes pixel art textures a lot harder to make. Thanks guys!
have you tried to snap the UV vertices to the pixels of the lightmap? make sure the lightmap has the same pixel size in your tool as it has in udk while you activate the Pixel snapping. those lines can occur because UDK has to try to fill half of Pixels which is a reason for those jagged Lightmap lines.
Select/Color Range .. Select the Pixel in question Then Window/Histogram, under Histogram options select "expanded view" and "show statistics". Under pixels you will see the number of pixels of that exact colour within your image.
Well, that's simply how Shadows/Highlights operates - basically working as an edge detection filter, similarly to Unsharp Mask. Instead you need to use methods affecting all pixels the same : Levels, Brightness/Contrast, Curves, and so on.
How do I get a perfectly aligned UV map? I mean pixel perfect. I'm a newbie using low polys and low res textures in an attempt to learn the basics. So apologies if the answer is obvious. My problem is that I don't know how to properly unwrap the UV in order to be able to texture details at the pixel level throughout the…
