if the ear is meant to rotate very much as an animation it may be worthwhile to select that edge loop at the bottom, bevel it, and then you can add some more loops inside of that if needed after some testing. if it will fold down, just some more loops along the length will do fine. i think the way you have the topology…
What does MJ Poly Tools "edge loop split" do? There's "Insert Edge Loop" and "Offset Edge Loop" which sound similar, but I don't know what the functionality of "edge loop split" is, so it's hard to say. What version of Maya are you using right now? Insert Edge Loop has been in since before Maya 2008, afaik.
Like Pior said - take the time to read that thread. It's huge, yes, but it's invaluable. Although keeping quads is very important, there are times were Ngons are perfectly fine. The main problem you have in that example scizz, is that your edge loops are incomplete. You were doing just fine, but it looks like you stopped…
I dont know if you were using edge loops initially, and I dont even know if this will work now its tris. But arent edge loops dependant on angles? So it should still see the edge original loops. So (still some work involved) if you select a edge from each of your edge loops, then hit the loop tool. Hide these then do the…
i noticed a little bug with the double click loop select and double click right select. if your just selecting 1 loop or ring it works as expected, but if you try to loop select multiple rings or loops by holding shift and doable clicking edges, on all but the first selection, it will select the loop than de-select the…
When I try using panel loops with the default settings I end up with a gigantic mess. I start with a dynmeshed object, use the slice curve to define a few poly groups, then hit panel loops. What can I do to fix this?
hey. im having an issue where whenever i use swift loop in max2010, the green line that usually is there to show where you are placing the loop does not appear. does anyone know why this would happen? graphics card issue maybe?
