Crossposting from the Unity Sutup Thread, maybe we can add this to the original post once solved? also: monster's solution to the FBX scale import problem: and the last thing: the axis problem: did anyone ever get rid of it?
Well only thing I can sugest is to try exporting the model to an .OBJ then reset max and open it and reexport it as the .ASE. Hopefully youll solve this so you can get on with Captain nemos office, wich looks sweet by the way.
Hey Swaggletooth, thanks for the suggestion. I agree, the contrast is quite crisp. I might solve it by vertex painting on the beams to blend the transition, but I also plan to tweak the colors in general a bit more. I'll keep you posted
You can get the directory of the file with a command and instead of doing outPutFileName.ext, do DriveLetter:/Full/Path/To/File/outPutFileName.ext. Solved my problems for getting Maya to spit things out where I wanted them via Mel.

Hi I am trying to make a circular masking on an object but even if I selected on backface masking it still pass my masking throught all four surfaces of my mesh when I do in frontal view ... why that and how could I solve this? thanks for any answer...

That's freaky, have you been converting the scene from MR, to Scanline and back again? That has been known to seriously screw with your lights. I was going to suggest export the lights as FBX and re-import but it looks like you solved it.
