Doing a bit more work on my HL2 apartment scene! Fun stuff. Textured everything so far just in Substance Designer. Moving on to using Painter for stuff after an incredible demonstration by NicholasW at work today! I've made a thread here: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?p=2337117#post2337117
I was tinkering with writing a quick tutorial on considering layers of wear when texturing with Substance Designer. The left is simply a generator defining scratches while on the right I approached the wear as first rubbing off some of the clear coat, then exposing primer and finally bare metal. Then I realized I made a…
Still working on this. Hopefully I'll have the textures finished up soon. Mostly procedural in Substance Designer. The idea is that all the materials created for this can be plugged into another gun mesh (or prop) and have the texturing 90% done. Edit: Marmo viewer goodness :D…
I've been working on some Fallout fan art in my attempts to better understand Substance Painter. I've always thought that the plasma rifle needed a scope, so I added one, while making a few design tweaks to accommodate more power. So far these are just screen shots from SP.
Got the lowpoly and textures done for this prop, going to post pics of the complete enviro once its a bit farther along. Started teaching myself substance designer/painter for this asset, although in hindsight I don't know if this type of prop is the best use case. Def gave me a good jump-start though.
I started with Ddo a year ago, then switched to Substance tools, and I don´t regret it. The Allegorithmic community is awesome. The Allegorithmic staff is more than awesome - best support ever. but of course there are features on the quixel side, that really stand out, like Ndo´s ability to create really beautiful normal…
Hehe my first post. I made this model for a college work, the objective was made a "self portrait" in 3D with a cartoon style. how I had to do the work, so I decided to learn and try substance painter to improve my skills, and I'm realy impressed with the software and how it's easy to use. 3D Viewer HERE
Ive also have a wip thread with this. I hope Its cool I post it here too. First time I've had anything I have felt worthy of being in this thread. Still Need to put the Ka-bar stamp on the blade. Also first time I have Really messed with substance Painter.
Working on a small enviroment to learn substance painter/designer (http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=149615). I did the scene blockout and did the first high poly bake for one of the chests. Blockout: Chest (Low-Poly with 4096 normal and AO Map (will be downscaled to 2048 once finished)). Rendered in 3DO ~…
Trying out Substance Designer. The brick needs some more work, looks a little flat for my liking. It was one of my first test with the various nodes and seeing how they work together, will do another version. Metal grid/ plate I'm pleased with, took the knowledge from the brick trial and worked the material a bit more.
