Promising start! I agree with Tobbo, the lighting is really off. Your shadows are basically black, as though you have no indirect light and in outdoor/daylight scenes there is usually a LOT of indirect light. You may also want to consider revisiting your tree, the vertex normals are making the leaves look super planar and…
If he said non-planar then he's talking rubbish. As you found out yourself, it's pretty much impossible to have planar "faces" on an organic mesh. So either he doesn't know what planar means, or he just doesn't know what he's talking about in general. What is the reasoning behind wanting to keep perfect edge loops? If it's…
You're right. I've run into an issue where by shrinking all the UV's into their own space instead of figuring out how to overlap and share space with them, I ended up losing detail from the smaller size (for diffuse maps), and not being able to get much detail at all when trying to create a normal map. As for the spec map,…
sure anyone has a right to whine and demand change, and blizzard as a company who always seems to march to it's own beat has a right to ignore all the whining and demands and make the game they want to make. Personally i think the art looks fantastic. Especially in motion. really nice animations going on. In my book moving…
Every. Goddamn. Time. All I'm doing is using push and moving verts :/ Edit: Seems it doesn't like pushing multiple sub-objects at once. Weird... Anyone able to offer any advice at all on my Max problem?
I don't think your hardware is powerful enough to run all the fancy features in UDK. You should be able to use it, but all the advanced lighting and material things will do strange things, like you see in the default scene.

Hello there everyone! So basically, the TLDR is this: I'm creating a rig for class and on the arm rig we are using a twist Expression on the wrist and forearm joints so that the forearm joint rotates on the X-axis at half the rate of the wrist joint. And well after I implement this expression I'm getting an evaluation…
