Also go ahead and paint up one tileable rocky texture that you plan to use here. No point in trying to "stay within the lines" while painting your uniquely unwrapped piece. There are MANY benefits to using tileable textures when it comes to natural environment art.
Was this an assignment? As an artist looking to better yourself i really don't see any point in doing that. Make one of the other characters but hand paint the whole thing. Then when your done with that guy try another but hand paint them don't render to texture them.
Hey, Sephez. Jolly god work so far. Riddlaz advices were spot so I just thought I'd add a bit on top i'm sorry the overapint is so clumsy but I tried to be reaaal fast. 1.Because plants come in all forms and sizes, the benches are your size reference in this scene. Hey Fisguard, I absolutely love this scene. Your composition, detail, and overall moodiness ability is well showcased. I am new to digital painting, so take my critique with a grain of salt. Your ability to take rough paint strokes to create forms and moods is absolutely astounding, I haven't seen a piece quite like it in…

Aside from the dodgy hair paintover in the Beauty shot, all this stuff is caputured at 5000 pixel wide images and shrunk down in…

"Photos can make good…
so i am trying to build a shader which can assign 4 materials via vertexpaint and blend them via heightmap i have a working version of it (forgot to send it home, guess i will have to post it tomorrow) but i run into problems in the extremes, say heightmaps which are very flat or super rough and i haven't figured out how to…
I started this late last year and got lazy after getting another work contract. Recently I've had time to come back and finish this pet project off. The inspiration was obviously was mushrooms and to make an environment around that theme. This is just a flat lit scene in Marmoset. If I find myself with more free time I…
