Your lightmap resolution is probably too low. Some of those thin islands don't even get 1 pixel if you have 32x32. This is what UDk has to work with, this is your lightmap: So the big blotches you see there is half a pixel :) So try out a bigger lightmap, oer perhaps vertex lighting( just set resolution to 0 to turn on…
@Jaker 3278: thx that's is one of the best compliments I could ever get! ninja speesculpt well "speed" around 5 hours or so. still need to improve lods to get some cleaner work going.
Sometimes when a GPU isn't taxed enough, the CPU, RAM, or some combination can become a bottleneck. There might be a greater difference in performance if they increased the resolution to 2560x1440 with 16X AA. That said, I don't think it's the case. Tom's is getting similar results with even higher resolutions and higher…
Thanks, guys. If you want to give it a spin yourself, here's a link to a fresh web player version! http://www.hedfiles.net/DFMobile/DFMobile.html WASD for movement, Click and drag on the right-hand sphere to look around. Controls are very mobile-centric now - I've already added, but not hooked up options to make it more…
any ips monitor is a lot better than the typical TN lcd monitors, get one or 2 of these if you go with a PC, or you get get a better IPS. I wish they had dell monitors next to apple's somewhere so you could compare, but I bet they are pretty much on par.…
I have nvidia/intel dual core. Rather old system, actually. I need to upgrade when I get a job. I'm running a Core2Duo E6600 2.4ghz, GeForce 9800GT 320MB, Vistax64 and only 3GB of ram. I'd like to have a quad core and at least 8GB of ram. Right now having Max and Photoshop open for a few hours starts to chug, let alone…
What's your issue? The alpha is 8 bit if you're working with a 32bit image. Ie if your bit depth in photoshop is set to 8 bit per pixel then your alpha channels are 8 bit. The red displays as a mask in photoshop for visual convenience. nothing more. Just export it as a tga or tiff and check 32bit when you get the option…
TGA's, because most engines will process them much better (especially for mipmaps) and most image editing softwares cannot process/read 32bit PNG's for Alpha if you should require such a thing.
still no solution, but i tried one more thing. baking with the 32bit version of xnormal. but that didn't solve the problem either. anyone with an idea what is going on here? could anyone try to bake a normal map with the models i have linked to see if the models might be the problem?
@EarthQuake the lower the price point for a general purpose laptop its less of an issue because you paying for mid grade performance and parts that will be obsolete in a few years so you just buy another low price system. but when your looking at 17 workstations at 2k$+ then your configuring high end geforce and quadro…
