Updated Some of the smaller props into their own mini scenes to make sure textures worked on a smaller level. This was also to make this more portfolio ready while i continued to finishing the rest of the textures. I'm in dire need of someone else's eyes on this project. Any critiques, i'm all ears.
This time of year always gets pretty busy, but fun, hope everyone is having a great time. I've been continuing forward with every free time I get...Here is a small update, still a lot of work to do, getting a feel for the concept and looking for the right adjustments to nail the concept.
I wish I had the time to enter this contest and was looking forward to the continuation of this type of competition. My kind of thing being able to work in my own style and the ability to address the brief in any way, keep going and I will definately enter the next one (which will hopefully be soon!).
well i had planed on painting some hills in the background. After a few attempts i noticed my background painting skills were not on par with my texture painting. therefore i created the little cylinder hills. That helped allot but i still have to continue practicing painting.
Original developer parted ways with a publisher and opened Rizom-Lab, which he owns solely. But he couldn't keep name without going thru long and costly fight, which would take probably years, so decided to rename it instead and continue the work under new name.
Actually, I'm going to stick with this uv layout. The vents get enough texture space, there is little distortion and no seams to worry about. Here's a render with a checker texture applied to the lowpoly model, plus the wires. I won't be able to post in the next two days, but after that, I'll continue working.
Attention to detail Ability to render a concept image into 3d art/game space (I don't ever see this enough) Competent understanding of material pipeline and terms Dedication to improve (keep making stuff and post wips on a blog or something. It's nice to see people continually improving and working at the craft)
http://www.rsart.co.uk/2006/11/20/how-many-polygons-in-a-piece-of-string/ What engine are you using? Who is your target audience? Wow big is the landscape? Are you using any fancy tech with the terrain like MegaTexture, heightmap based landscapes with continuous Geo-MipMap LOD?
After a long long time, continued with this... I'm using this character as hero character for a mobile game, so retopo to low poly and did a paint over, Which one looks better ? I want to keep it white dress but I feel its very dull and non-vibrant for the game.
F-ing new video f-ing lol greatest ending ever! I wish I had money to back them with, hard times can't always back people especially ones with promise, damn! Best of luck thanks for posting and if you could continue them updates.
