Thanks katana! I will go back to the texture and see what I can do to layer in some more depth :) Hey guys, I have a question: currently I am sculpting my terrain and in my concept there are hills like way far in the distance. Would you put those on a separate terrain, or just tessellate this one a lot so that it is…
A lot of time has passed since my last post. I've not had as much spare time to work on this project, but I've managed to squeeze in a few hours here and there on the weekends. It's all coming together quite nicely. I like how my lighting is working right now, I just need to model and texture another 40 or so more assets…
@Johnny_Wuu - Well I can unfortunately not take credit for the concept. I took a break yesterday from sculpting and worked instead on my furry friends backstory. The idea so far came from a recent vacation to Guatemala and the Tikal Maya ruins. It is said that the city collapsed on it self because of lacking wood and water…
cool sculpt man! In the tree I would actually add some saturation back in to make things pop. But subtle. Like, make a gradient of saturation running towards the center of the leaves or something. Id blend some of that back into it. Also, the lines on the bark are too dark. Check the reference and how much less contrast…
Sorry to let my sketchbook die, been pretty busy with life... Oh social lives... they are overrated. Anywho... I postponed my tree scene since i lost the motivation to stay with it, I wasnt really into the scene I guess. I might go back to it, we shall see. Woke up this morning in the mood to do some MudBox work (still…
I have added in some decals to the medieval scene which I think helps it feel that bit more lived in. I also decided to change the oak leaf texture as the original one had far too much lighting information in it and was pretty unusable. The decals I added in are track marks for the carts, horse hoof prints, loose hay and…
I must remind my self to come here more often. Okay so im working on this environment scene, it contains a Elk Skull laying beside some rocks and a tree stump plus some few nature assets as well. i made a quick concept so i could visualize the idea,As you can see its also arranged in what order i should prioritize the work…
Fallout (1, 2, 3, and NV) fanart - The sniper rifle that spanned the Fallout universe until the latest entry. I've been working to make it game compatible and release it as a standalone weapon mod for Fallout 4, capable of being transformed from a sawed off raider improvised weapon to the weapon of FO3 to the classic…
Your common tools are the 3d packages, mostly for hard surface models and base meshes. Zbrush, Mudbox for sculpting. Photoshop for texturing. + lots of other third party tools or plugins that can help you with specific tasks. The most common workflow is to create hipoly meshes and bake them onto low poly meshes that will…
@RexM: Oh my...! Thanks a lot for your crits! Really happy to see a post from you here! :) Here is a small update: First of all I re-structured the firs to and re-made their trunks to make them a bit more realistic and adress the issues RexM mentioned. Second I made the first broken trunk/branch and oriented it on RexM's…
