Hey, I was wondering which of the two was better for generating normal maps from textures? I used the nVidia plugin for a long time until recently, since it does not work on Photoshop CS4 64 bit. I applied the nvidia filter multiple times on any given texture, and then blurring them properly to get my normal maps the way I…
Hey guys, i wanted to make a tileable floor piece. i set my zBrush canvas to 2048 by 2048 and frame my plane to the right size. when i grap the doc and export it as an psd to check in ps if it tiles i got a problem. on the horizontal its all ok but in the vertical axes i've a seam at the half of it at 1024. i tryed it out…
Can we stop talking about 'gens' ? A decent proportion of artists in the industry still can't even bake a normalmap competently. Implying that the fact people are making games for PS5 means some radical shift in technology or workflow for most artwork is naive and misleading. Also : how is this an actual discussion? If you…
it seems i solved the problem :D i was going to load everything back up again to show you some pictures, but instead of pressing flatten like i always did before i thought id try pressing the keep layers button and that seems to have fixed the problem (i used psd files btw) :o would you mind telling me why that is? i read…
Not yet. Once I get some floor textures painted out i'll likely start throwing things into the scene. Due to the wacky state of the engine i'm working in, ASE and and PSK both have their own disadvantages to importing into the engine. So i'm thinking i'll stick with BSP geometry tools in the engine for the basic surfaces…
Photo reference is fine, using photo to create the texture or brush that were made of a picture isn't. Colorpick often result in dull color. I'm actually impress that you did such a realistic texture without using picture :O If you don't mind, i would like to see your psd file (don't worry if it's messy, mine are too haha)…
you will find this difficult at first mostly if your new to anatomy and photoshop, you really need a reference image to be able to color this. http://itchstudios.com/psg/art_tut.htm you might find some useful things here about skin tone, rendering and lighting. maybe find a similar image or any image of a person laying…
Hey cromadbomber - I am currently working with Unreal 4 rather lightly. My main development computer's mainboard and PSU are at their respective manufactures under maintenance/RMA. I currently use Blender (normally 3D Studio Max) as well as photoshop CS5 for light texture work. It would be nice to talk to some like mined…
Just tested it on one of my hard surface normals with Adobe CC, unfortunately it this doesn't resolve the issue. So I guess we just need to sit tight for now and work on what we can while waiting for a fix. As Teddy has said, its a multiscript issue, just a shame that it isn't easily fixed by a different version of PSD, if…
Don't have a lot of time. Some experience but it's not my specialty. I have been using the auto-rig feature in Maya LT and it sucks when it comes to animating the rig, it's so painful it makes me want to give up my game project altogether. I just want to rig a low poly (ps1-era graphics) humanoid character that can be…
