As Lucas said, this is a lot to take on at one sitting. You could, however, break it into bite-sized chunks and eventually end up with the entire scene. The items in the scene aren't terribly complex - the wrecked cars are probably the most complicated - but there are a LOT of objects. Being able to intelligently break it…
Thanks, ye I gave her a serious/ determined face when posing to test the controls. I might make it more child serious were she breaks character a bit, because I'm considering a slight trip for the run break given the size and weight of the bobbin, or possibly losing grip of it.
gloss maps is kind of more material definition, for wood and concrete you would give it a very broad gloss, whereas plastic/metal you keep it tighter. So in gloss maps i cant remember which way it is but black = tight, white = broad spec it could be the otherway around depending
Hi, basically you set your seams as usual, hit "simulate pelt pulling" once to break the seams and then exit the pelt-tool to continue like mvelasquez described. I usually don't even bother with the peltseams, just map everthing as a "solid" mesh without seams as a start and then break edges and relax.
I also tend to delete the tread tga's which the wizard creates. If you are not going to change the tread maps, not having the files means the game will use the default set with your skin. Having them included in your skin pack without modifying them is unnecessarily increasing your mod's file size.
@LimitedSlipStudios The Canadian gov't did a pretty good job of preventing offshore art jobs. Studios here get a tax break for hiring Canadians, and thus studios are thriving up here. There have been some studios which have closed in the states just to get the giant tax break to reopen up here.
Amazing artwork, really need to drop a props on those trees/mountains.. they're beautiful :) Would it be asking too much to get a break down on how you went about building your trees? Or did you go with the method of having one base geo blob with outlining alphas to break up silhouette?
Which exporter are you using and what is it going into? FBX? OBJ? Most of them interact with the modifiers in different ways depending on their settings. Some will break the geometry along smoothing groups or UV seams which doubles the vert count along those breaks. Others will re-number the verts hosing morph targets too.
Looks good! Your tread seems really fine and might not get the result you want from normals. I don't know how much UV space your planning to give the tread though. Just a heads up since "you know who" will probably say something about that in class. Cheers!
this tread is sure full of badassery , bt i dont realy get the point, despite the danger of being the douche again but this sounds to me like a "look women can do art too" tread, which in itself is somewhat sexist, since the shell your mind is jammed into doesnt really matter for doing art
