x_x coming into maya now...... maps exported from zbrush. yea i cheated a bit on the render with some photoshop curves and chromatic aberration >_> also edited his jaw a bit slimmer, and his neck a bit thicker. was worried about pencil-neck. crits welcome and appreciated! -

as always i recomend a phenomII quadcore (955 +) and 8 gibs of ram, an asus/msi board and a cheaper ati 5XXX card ati makes alot of less headache lately and works fine with maya and max and the other common tools, nvidia gives me some issues touh, with photoshop blendmodes and random crashes -

As much as I'd prefer to go with a Nvidia card, I can pick up XFX (or ASUS) 6850 for just over $200, which rates very well on Newegg and blitzes the other cards as far as the G3D mark / price goes according to PassMark. (Thanks EarthQuake!) How does that sound? -

AHAHA - just walk down *ANY* of the halls of Microsoft (specifically the millienum campus) around the good ole hour of 1pm and the halls are lined with trash cans filled to the brim with post-lunch goodies and the scent of rotting garbage. That or the dreaded year-old left overs in any employee fridge X_X -

Also, You can try opening ...\UE4\x.x\Engine\Shaders\BRDF.usf search for #define PHYSICAL_SPEC_F it is by default set to 1 (Schlick). change it to 0 (None) to disable fresnel. You can also try changing PHYSICAL_SPEC_D from 2 (GGX) to 0 (Blinn) which might make the shading a little bit more conventional. -

dig the first shot, i can see it comming to life but theres still lots more loving its aking for. the scud launcher looks goods except when i scrolled to the right and saw the back support, at first i thought it was an oil leak, xexe, but then at a closer look it was a support, its a bit too thin for me. -

Yeah I dislike how they do that. Technically you could run an older XCode, but then you'd want to run iOS5 if you're developing, which needs XCode 4.x.x which needs Lion. Having said that, Lion is only £20 for the OS (regardless of which previous version you're coming from). -
