Just connect them. They could cause some problems: -in uvw editor and game engine you could got an error about overlapped uv's -some scripts and algorithms like "relax" in uvw will works bad. in newer versions there is 'Local Aligned' but doesn't always work. i use Extend Borders script. it has some quirks like it doesn't work with an Edit poly modifier, you need to have Edge constraint off and sometimes you need to toggle Straighten Corners if it's bugging out. To me it sounds like you are the tech-art kinda guy, I think you should focus on that strength instead of going into sculpting. imgur is great for the purpose of sharing images alone. But dropbox has many other uses, sharing any kind of file, backing up stuff, syncing devices which gives access to your notes/scripts/passwords/portable apps and their settings, collaborative group-syncing, hosting html based websites and a bunch of other stuff :p +1… -

I have an answer to this: I was able to restore this feature by deleting/renaming the Maya 2015 folder in my docs where the preferences and scripts are stored. The folder will be recreated the next time Maya is launched. The option was once again available once I did this. Then I reinstalled my plugins now all is working… -
