I think that it's a bit too dark to really understand what is going on. The first thing i can tell you tho, is that these blue lights are really killing the mood and the scene. On the corner of the fireplace you can clearly spot a seam and the bricks looks rather flat.
Looks cool. But why let kids have all the fun? I say make 'em use Max or Maya and get 'em to the point where they're ready to through a brick through the monitor, like a real artist. Have you actually tried this program?
Yes, I can happily live with being raped it's the route in inner London through the 1 way system that scares me. I'd be shitting bricks as I always get stuck in them. Then the car would probably get nicked even though it's not work the effort.
Solid stuff. I would mention the weird reflection on the left side bricks but i think its still WIP so maybe it will go away after the final build. Keep at it. PS: good thing that you didnt go in that direction... ;). It was a bit too sinister.
I'm afraid I really don't get what you mean by the steps, could you maybe give me a pic or elaborate a little bit more? And I fixed the little bricks, good suggestion, it was looking wierd. Here's the change Uploaded with ImageShack.us thanks :)_
It depends on how the substance was made. I've found that certain techniques won't always scale well, like edge detect or similar effects. Looks like this relies on having good definition of the grout to form the bricks and blend other grunges, but is getting lost as it's tiled down.
Nicolas, is there anywhere we can buy that amazing new stone/brick texture you made that's used for advertising SD5? I'm absolutely bananas about it, and I'm dying to explore that graph! Regardless, you're work is absolutely amazing, and I hope you keep it up!
We British may be last but the hype is still there x) Gotta love the updating phase of gaming. I was scared the latest PS4 firmware was gonna brick my console after hearing rumours. It has definitely made the dashboard laggy though which was also mentioned...
very nice work :) For the bricks, I suggest some white cement in between them sometimes.Making parts with the joints lighter, like erasing them a little would break that grid patern to get something nice. The gloss is a bit strong too. Looks like they are painted.
You'll need at least two UV sets for variation. A very simple method is to tile your texture on your first UV set, but not to use too much grime in it. Then create a grime texture which will be used as an overlay, put that on your second UV set, and make sure it tiles at a different interval. If you want to get more…
