Hi Guys, Here are the images submitted for the competition. Ive tried to address some of the points raised in previous posts and have also tinkered with a few elements such as the fog etc. Any feedback at this point will definatly help with future projects. Thanks again :)
Here I have put all the elements together. I still have to work some bits to fit it together a bit more. There are quite a few places where things are inter penetrating. Just need to work a little more on the clothing.
Regarding the crippling debt element, this doesn't really apply in the UK as the loan is government supplied and you only start paying it off once you earn a certain amount. The interest is so small (especially at the minute due to the low base rate).
When is this supposed to be out? looks like its going in the right direction. I would like to see some gameplay elements and more about what the game intends to do with it. I expect great things from this tho. Awesome stuff.
Better late than never! :) I wanted to add more natural elements and debris, maybe I'll have to revisit this one at some point. I'll try to post some variations as soon as I figure out a good way to present these.
looking very nice for a first environment :) try to break everything down in elements and try to improve lighting and materials.. http://udn.epicgames.com/Three/VideoTutorials.html The lighting and material video downloads at ^this link are very easy to follow and with awesome results :) keep it up!
that actually is a "idea switch" helmet :P ya i mean it is a literally switch. well wanted to add some crazy element that scientist will do XD original thought was want to remove his wifi remote and replace it with Wii controller. :poly142:
Pardon the ignorance, but what do they mean by "5 materials"? Like a diffuse/specular/normal/gloss? Do they mean materials presented, like you're supposed to make the model somehow incorporate elements of plastic and metal to test you're surface texturing?
Th edge looks in the moment too clean but its a wip. But the the othe rparts looking a bit bland, its hard to tell which material it can be. Leather straps or cotton? Is the red element leather or wood? Hard to tell in the current wip.
I agree, Rachel's book is spectacular. I was a technical reviewer for that one, and it's incredible for learning UnrealScript. Mine on the other hand, is basically the second step in this process, and allows you to add more gameplay elements once you've completed her book.
