! That is strange. It works fine at work... :( Guess it is something with my setup at home? ugh! Yeah haha! I don't know why but before I uploaded the code it was global. People always seem to get onto me for using globals so out of paranoia I switched it to local. BaseSwitchSOL is meant to remember the subobject level of…
In the main, all of your characters (especially the people in suits, not monsters) have similar problems in two fundamentals aspects for concept-art: 1) Silhouette, the relations between shapes and masses inside the object. As an abstract set of shapes, the characters don't look good. 2) Communicative component of the…
uuh so a bunch of travel and the ever magical christmas + new year period = no time/no decent computer for 3D. Plus I've been putting off posting because of 'uuugh nothing is good enough everything sucks'. Which may well be the case, but I decide I'm still going to post some sketchbook junk everynow and then. I've been…
The first Aliens VS. Predator movie was quite bad. There was one memorable shot from that movie that I always find entertaining. When the Predator does a spinning leap over the Alien queen's back, and stabs her in the head with a spear, that is totally awesome. Everything else in the film stank of "meh." Two of the…
Hey there everyone! So I am back with a small update. Back at the beginning of this project, when it was just me building the Millennium Falcon, several people were curious as to how I was going to approach texturing this monster. Well About a week ago I started that daunting task. ( the thought of texturing this thing has…
While it's okay to feel naked because of stress, or to imagine the crowd naked to reduce that stress, it is very very very important that neither of you are actually naked. Just keep that in mind. On a more serious note: Practice your presentation at least two times (preferably a few days apart); once to get the serious…
Hey thanks for the feedback! I'll try and load the small enviro & pose into sketchfab again, I had issues last time with the tree alphas, but I'll give it another go. With 3Dcoat, for me anyway, I like it because it's simple and it works every time. I could use it the first time I opened it without any need for tutorials.…
Looks awesome. Were I making recommendations, I would learn to mess with depth of field (focus based on distance) to help separate your distances. Also, you might want to vignette your sword wielding figure for your values to make him stand out more -- because he's the character we're experiencing this through (or so I…
First off, this is looking really cool! There are just two things that instantly stood out to me: Darkness, your seen is too dark. Sure darkness is scary and having dark parts will help you keep it mysterious and creepy. However to much darkness will make the level hard to read and take down the overall quality of the…
The lighting is flat. You've got hardly any shadows in your scene and its not helping the realistic style you're going for. Those shrubs would cast shadows on the ground, the palm trees on to the wall, and so on. This scene is moon light with the occasional spotlight so the shadows won't be sharp or dark, but you do need…
