ive always found it harder to pull off something like stone or brick when using landscape (or terrain before). if you were to build your floor as if it were actually ontop of the landscape, not the landscape itself, you may be able to get some better results out of it. you would be able to tessellate however much you…
Looks dope! You should probably do something about the grass shading. They really look like cardboard planes now.. Maybe force the normals upwards? If that breaks the SSAO, see if there is some transmission shader you could use. Crazy idea: put some parallax on the stone textures. Parallax on hand painted isn't that…
I just realized..That's what color of skylight is for. No worries..mate. Just figured it out. What if I sculpted a mesh in Mudbox/Zbrush? I am guessing I need to bake out the displacement map to use as a height map after importing the low res mesh in UE4. Why not just procedural foilage for the rocks and stones but he uses…
I am currently trying to figure out how to get vertex painting to work with multiple materials. I'm not sure if it is even possible at the moment. I managed to get red on the temple stones and moss on the supporting structure, but it'd be nice if I could blend red paint, gold paint, and moss on everything. Would make the…
Hello again, so a quick thing to show what I have been working on :) quick mood board rough block out of a possible building design Stone Lanten, fully high, low poly and textured playing with Quixel, didn't work out right so going to redo this using photoshop only :) any crits welcome, cheers for looking Lokidottir
Looks like it's coming along nicely. The floors look a bit strange to me though with all of those smooth jutted out tiles. I think it'd look much better if you just focused on a nice tiling stone texture, possibly zbrushed, with some parallax and put together a nice blend map to vertex paint thicker and thinner areas of…
I'm in agreeance with the others above me. Awesome job on the door, but it's just not clear what the floor is meant to be. If those stones in the ground are supposed to be natural then they're very flat and soft looking, and if they're supposed to be man made then their shape is far too irregular. Personally I'd really…
Maybe the building is actually still there and cleverly concealed by a hologram technology that the bush family engineered alongside bin laden and his families wealth so they could hide a secret army of flying monkeys that will attack washington if we try to vote bush out of power? I think I will wait to watch Oliver…
Yeah...I'm in the same boat as Daz. Not much warm father-son activity going on. He really treats me more as a co-worker than as a son, becaue I help him out from time to time with his stone masonry. He also likes to point out how other people my age are better than me...
I'm pretty sure that Prometheus is only referring to skin tones for saturated mid tones in his art tutorial, though i think his wording is confusing there. Saturated mid tones in this case can be explained via SSS. Otherwise afaik there is nothing in the maths that would cause it.
