Super quick 2min rig to test everything ingame. Only some base colors, no masks and no wings yet. Hope to finish the wings this week, rig it properly and then send it off to texturing and some extra rigging for the wings.
Hey guys, I wasnt sure what to title this thread but I am simply asking for some basic advise from the people that likely know best and or first hand. I know there are plenty of articles out there, but I am more interested in what you people have to say. I am a recent graduate, and with the competitive nature of the game…
looking through your work I can tell you're developing pretty well as a 3D Artist, but I'm a bit unsure what type of 3D Artist you want to be, your portfolio is lacking a bit in focus, there's work here that would suit a general artist or an environment artist, but my guess is you want to be a character artist right? I'd…
From my experince rigging, and skinning (which I'm quite noobish at) a T pose has either caused 1 of 2 problems (for me): 1. to shoulders when the arms are at the sides look really broad, and almost seem to stick out too much, and bunch up... if that makes sense? 2. when the arms are down theres obvious intersecting polys…
There's many factors that can influence such a decision. Whether it is one contiguous mesh or separated -- either way you can make the rigging work. As a slightly further along beginner to another, I'd recommend trying out both ways, just however it makes sense to you, and going through the full gamut of rigging and…
Its all handled on hte GPU, so no need to store all of that info in memory. It also helps with things like rigged meshes, instead of rigging a 100k mesh, you only rig your base 5k mesh.
What is Patriots? In 2020, a tyrant leader steps out from the ruins of WWIII. He leads with his own private military and promises to protect the people from danger and hunger. This promise is soon broken and the Patriots are formed. Patriots follows the story of adrenaline junkie Max Swagger and British rock & roller Liz…
Thanks for all the kind words and great crits. I officially started working on the freelance job today, so I got the job... Woo hoo! I'm thinking now that I should have definitely paid closer attention to the way stuff connects together (especially on the back side) instead of making things pretty much just intersect with…
If I were you I'd probably at least split up modeling/uv/texturing and rigging/animation. Some character artists aren't great at rigging but most animators will at least know what they need from a rig.
I found my rig of choice, my time opened up a bit so expect some progress soon! Rig credit goes to: https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-model-beast-rigged/991951
