The problem with this in a crowdfunding way is that there could be massive uproar and the only way you could pull this off is by having a game that does not require online and delaying this payment as long as you can because when the backers find out you will sell little to no copies of that game or any future titles you…
@multitud3 MagnoHusein is right, game is hard for custom things so be sure if you really need it. If yes, DO YOUR BEST! and good luck =]done the new month contest guys! sorry for the delay next month contest http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=133178 im going to add the items on the frontpage by tomorrow and…
Thanks! Ah yes I see, like make the cables look more worn. I could lighten up the colours in the areas where wear would be. Yeah we ran out of time for decals but if we continue the environment I do think we need to work on the terrain a lot more! Thanks for your comments I will work on it :)
Thanks Dana. How about standard lerp alpha blend? I wonder if this would be slower than additive or multiply blending. I'm thinking about foliage mostly, but also decals. IIRC PVR used to have tile-based sorting, which had virtually no alpha sorting errors. I wonder if the iPhone chipsets still have that?
Must have something to do with the creation of materials when coming back to Maya, and GoZ needs MR for some reason to do so. I have noticed that going to ZBrush still works but not being able to send back to Maya has been annoying. Thanks for the tip! Looks like I'll be installing Mental Delay for the time being.
i'm on it. now its just a matter of hrs ^^ got your email late last night. so delay was due to sleep ^^ EDIT: heres the poll: http://www.easypolls.net/poll.html?p=52009e05e4b0dc6104add483 pls check if somethings missed or wrong and after that i pitch da bitch to reddit :P xD i cant believe i said that
@Lankus Maximus, thank you dude! Ive been playing around with the idea of using decals and POM to fake damage to the body of the car, along with drift-stitching and what not. From the tests I did earlier in the project it definately feels that less is more. Might even be worth me doing a clean and a roughed up version.…
Custom normals are pretty great, though they can be a little tough to manage when you have a complex mesh to worry about. It's less of a worry when your details and decals are floating and not cut into the mesh. If you are a Maya user, this script has been really wonderful so far :)…
good stuff, im glad you werent calling it done. maybe add more mid level detail? right now you have very broad detail( the color changes) and the fine gritty dirt and scratches. I would add more more elements between the two like perhaps decaling or introducing more shapes to the suit?
For past 2 months i heavily worked on dynamic destruction, i must say that it was fun doing that but its time to move on :) here what i got so far https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7oL3PQVfWzQ And also here is my experience from using APEX and UDK What i tried and failed to destroy in UDK Can't destroy trees in UDK i tried…
