Not these days, not going to happen. Unless there's another major world conflict, like WWII or Cold War. Right now space industry is all about cost and efficiency. Get more shit into space, spend less money. Polishing old reliable tech is way more efficient than developing new one.
That UV layout... I want to shake your hand. That is damn impressive. I'm an idiot, so, uh, what is the third map? Reflection? It's not full gray scale so I'm thinking it's not a AO or depth map, which would otherwise have been my first guess. Love tower wars, by the way!
Spherical turret kinda reminds me of the droids from star wars. You might be able to draw some inspiration from these guys. My biggest issue with your initial concept is how off center the grounding part is, it's way in front. Unique, but also very odd, as unique stuff tends to go.
nope, i'm doing it cause the guy who did all of the cars for gears of war did it :D It's more of a proving to myself i can do it. At this point i feel like my portfolio should do nothing but showoff. I'll worry about practicality when i get a job haha
I've got a complicated head model I need to detriangulate. What's the best way to do this? I have no knowledge of programming or scripts... I use 3ds Max; would this work? http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/detriangulate-all-editable-meshes I heard that it's not very good with more detailed models, but not sure if…
The near and far clip plane reset to 0 and 10 no matter what I set in my preferences. So each time I start a new scene I end up having to fix each camera's values. This seems to be a common maya bug that most people just work around. I'd like to figure it out tho. Has anyone had this before? What is the solution?
Hello Polycount! This is something I made for fun at school, a E Wing from Star Wars: My model is based of this image: My Result is this: Right now, I'm setting up the uv warp for it. I plan on at least getting that done before my break is over. What do you guys think of the model? by the way, does this forum support hide…
Hi there all :) So for one of my university projects I'm attempting to re-create one of the rooms from the Ebon Hawk, the main starship from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. The room doesn't have to be 100% populated for the brief, we are meant to finish fleshing it out in our own time for showreel purposes, but…
Total War looks awesome I'l be having that soon. Do you know if your on GameDevMap.com? I have seen way more studios on there than that wiki list although its poorly maintained. Many of the links on GameDevMap seem to be broken or linked to studios that went out of business years ago.
I remember when playing a game meant calling up your friends (on a telephone that connected to the wall) and having them come over to the house (with no concern of quacks and weirdo's) and setting up a table for a round of Ad&D, Car Wars or some other rpg....topped with pizza and coke. What happened?
