I posted this same question in another forum, and I did get interesting constructive response, but I decided to ask the same question here to see what creative minds think about this subject, (originally I asked in primarily programmer oriented forum since there is a writing sub-forum in it), so here is a copy/paste of…
Hey fellow PolyCounters! So Game Wizards is starting 3 new STUDENT games. We are the same school that placed 2nd in the Make Something Unreal Educational category last year. My name is Nick Marks ( I am one of the teachers ) and I will be starting the thread off but letting most of my students keep it alive. We will be…
Coming from substance too older methods of baking is very jarring but i cant use substance anymore and Xnormals is not doing the job, i was wondering if there are any sort of "bake by name" or way to bake too the same map object by object so the transfer does not take from the surrounding meshes when being baked? Currently…
Thanks for the input. I'd gotten the same impression about layer names not being easily accessed when searching around for a solution. I might, instead, export out both subtools as FBXs to Maya and see if there's any way to export out the blendshape names from there.
It's mobile games models that are very low poly. Pc and console models are not that low poly any more. I had been tasked to evaluate candidates portfolios in the past and it's a hell of an annoying burden usually . They often look perfectly same , tell you nothing about a person as an artist when it's just generic hi res…

Vassago's got it. A last gen game cost $4 million, a "next-gen" game costs $40 million. Guess what? People are not buying ten times as many games. A lot of publishers and studios bet their asses that we would cover the costs and and we (as an industry) have not. BUT! There is good news. Wii is a massive hit. MMO's are…
Really great work and I wish you the best of luck and will be following your posts here and on Vimeo. Really love the animation of the pod for the new game, if you can translate that into 3D I think you'll have a very unique feel. Your previous game looked great but a little bit unoriginal. Art is not your problem that's…
Hi, I’m a beginner game developer and have been working with Godot for a while. I don’t have much experience with 3D yet, but I’ve been programming in C++ for a more than 2 years and also know C#. I’d love the opportunity to join your team if you’re still looking for someone.
.....!! Interesting, I was really hoping that people would have atleast one game that they really, really, really hated. Like if a human being was named after that game, he/she would probably get shot over another human being named after another terrible game. That specific. I mean you would want to put 1 game per slot.…
