So my surgery went very badly. I had an allergic reaction to some of the meds. I'm in a tremendous amount of pain, I will be in bed for the next few days. I'm sorry I will not be posting much.
KnechtRuprecht is correct - if you want to model in such details you need to use more geometry in your cylinder to force the shapes. 12 sided cylinders do not have the proper amount of edges to support such modeling work.
The skin is too "real" which is giving it a very creepy vibe, though it could just be the lighting. I would probably try to minimize the amount of noise and imperfections which might give you a better result
Thank you so much  but yeah I see what you mean, the shapes are much sharper and cleanly defined and the amount of individual pieces are kept to a minimum  I will definitely give this a try!
There are a bunch of theories on how to transform the planet. I've seen it suggested that it just needs the atmosphere restored, and would be possible by releasing massive amounts of carbon dioxide. It depends on how active the core may still be (if at all).
Thanks, this is great advice. Scrapped a few things, deleted the sign. Still needs a decent amount of work. Bunch of props are still WIP. As you can see for now, the composition doesn't follow rules of thirds.
Looking really great! My only comment is that with the amount of detail you've incorporated, would it be possible for you to simplify some of the panels to give a better balance of 'quiet v. noisy' areas? But seriously, awesome work :)
Also here is the album: http://s1083.photobucket.com/albums/j391/serberusno1/ Apologies for the amount of unnecessary images I have just been using them to show off all the minor details to clients etc
Love the ideas. I looked into it and the amount of work needed to make such a huge visual change was relativly minor, so I knocked out a bunch and this is where I stand: Anyone else have comments or critiques?
Alright man cheers for the input - I know that a lot of tutorials and articles can be found online, but if these magazines are coming with tutorials loaded onto discs that are worth a fair amount then it seems like a decent idea to invest :]
