natetheartist has a great paintover there, and Mr.Skull face hits on some good points with the feature softness, soften up the nose and cheeks, it should be a big step in the right direction! also you might try makin her eyes just a tiny tiny bit bigger than the standard head width/5. -Woog -

Very nice ! Not certain if you are looking for crits here, but some of the forms seem a little soft. Seems like you could use a few chamfers on a few edges to tighten up the shapes, like around the front bumper and the trim along the sides. Or maybe achieve the same results with edge hardness/smoothing groups. -

Re: Environment work for student game project
Like John_Warner pointed out, I don't know where to focus. The images have high saturated colors, and the lighting doesn't help direct my eyes. It's just very cluttered. Work on setting up a soft ambience for the scene. And then use contrasting colors to light areas of focus. Use light sources cleverly. -
Noob question: different materials on game characters
So if I have one texture map for a whole character, but I want some parts of it to have really sharp specular (metal/plastic), and some parts to have diffuse, soft specular (skin), can I just use multiple materials but one map? Or is the renderer going to load the map multiple times for each material? Thanks in advance! -
Black vertex normals
Hi all, I'm getting this weird bug every time I unwrap model in Zbrush. I tried to fix normals, set to face, etc. But set to face returns them to hard edge and when I got back to soft edge, I get the bug again. Anybody knows how to fix this? Even baking normals doesn't properly work with this. -

Some updates of the face! So, I think that I am in the final stage with detailing it, the main problem is the hair. I like how Artists from Dishonored sculpt hair, it looks soft, natural, stylized... I want the same for my artwork. For now, I change his hair four times! But if worth it. Screenshot of the progress: -

Looking awesome so far! I think the lighting looks a tad too dark though? Instead of placing point lights around windows, I'd try to bump up the skylight contribution, and let the indirect lighting flood the hallway with soft gradients. Would make things more readable! Kickass work so far! -

The straps on the handle could have used a cleaner basemesh, they fuse in a little bit of an unnatural way right now. Metal looks a little soft to me personally. Make sure you gather reference of real life objects too even though you have a conept that you´re following.
