I think that you should try and make the site fit on a 1024 * 768 monitor, without the user having to scroll. Think of it like a CV; 1 concise page of A4 detailing what you are about. I recently got the Fallout 3 art book, and it's great, a thick a4 book with 368 pages filled with illustrations. Still haven't look through it properly, as I wait till I finish the game first (yes, I'm dragging it out, don't judge me), but the stuff I seem so far is great. Has sketches and fullblown colored pages. -

Yeah logitech MX 510/518 shape is the one i prefer. I've filed down the sharp angle on the right side. The middle click is comfortable and that matters a lot to me.
