Hi all, thanks for stopping by my thread. It's been a while... I normally would just post this in my sketchbook, but I've decided to put this here to get some useful comments and critiques. I'm using a concept by Victor Lee. I've got a decent start so far, but still have a ways to go. The rock ruins are nearly done, I may…
http://www.nickfarley.co.uk/seam_issue.jpg Hi, I'm making a large rainforest type tree but am having issues with dark seams in the normal map when I import it to UDK. My creation process is - - Low poly in max where I uv map it. - Import to Z brush where I sculpt and polypaint it. Export the polypaint to a texture using…
I'm currently working on a river forest scene in UE4 for my portfolio/study /practice and I've gotten to the point where I want to start working on some of the foliage. I've have seen multiple ways for going about creating foliage and I wanted to ask here what is the most commonly used method professionally, or moreover,…
Hey Folks, I'm pretty new here but figured i would post updates of my process on this in the hopes of getting critique. So awhile back i made a hero asset/fountain/statue. And recently I've gone through the process of re-texturing it. While i was doing this i realized i wasn't wholly happy with it as a standalone piece and…
well i don't know. i think anyone boasting about being a zsphere master is probably not so much ahead of the pack but more of a 2.5d weirdo... :) if your talking about modeling everything from a sphere then thats just dumb from a production point of view. even starting out with a dyna-mesh blob or a sphere voxel in 3dcoat…
For item 1, this all stems from daily drawing practice. Just draw things that you see in the world around you. Anything that strikes your fancy, draw it. Inside of the commuter train you take to get to school. A tree on the street. Someone's ear. Buy or make a sketchbook and draw, draw, draw. Your ability will only grow if…
While the 2D Art is cool I have to scroll down to see any of the work I want to look at. So I'm not sure why you have a (WiP I assume) Sculpt there but not your main work. Having everything on 1 page in sections is a nice idea but I'm not sure about the Page "Top" as I said its only showing me a Sculpt & a Background…
PBR makes materials realistically accurate, and n the real world you wouldn't really get vivid colours on a tree trunk. You can bend some of the PBR "rules" to create stuff which is unrealistic (in this case, overly/unrealistically vivid.) You could try overlaying your Ambient Occlusion pass onto your Albedo pass to…
Looks really solid so far! I think you've done the right thing jumping straight into zbrush, get some sweet detail in and worry about topology later, just realise it's gonna take a while :) I think giving the archway more of a natural feel by building it out of the tree in some way would look great. I believe that a light…
right u are AJ! :) my screenname rockz Salvador: Palm tree is good...would put more segments in the leaves though so they aren't so polys aren't that obvious...look at the crysis palms...they are perfect. OneTru: Building is good because it is done but bad because it isn't up to the level it needs to be. Your whole team…
