Hey guys. So I'm trying to improve in hard-surface modelling as I lack the skill. So right now, I've attempted to model a container and I've basically finished the model but now I'm onto the smoothing part which I just can't get right. Can you guys give me any tips on how to deal with this please ? I'm starting with the…
wrong - the value of quality critique cannot be diminished - prove to me how it can be diminished - enabling laziness is kowtowing to a perceived standard. I've only seen art be more homogenized because there is no room to push boundaries. Everything has to be techy plating like iron man or Captain America. LOL You've…
Yeah there was some uv issues but there gone now. Toned down the photo overlays and leave the bumps all to the normal map. I started a blockout out of the room behind one of the doors but then it dawned on me I have no idea what those rooms are called to look for reference. Would they just be a storage room?
Nice furniture renders dude :) I can see a bunch of areas where you could improve, but honestly just keep making more art and pushing yourself, you'll end up improving a ton. I'd say remove the Space Marine and the Scifi room. The texturing on the Streets of Amsterdam isn't really up to par, but I'd honestly just move…
Hi, everyone. I've been trying to bake some AO in Maya and it's just not working for me. I've got a room and within the room is an object that I'm trying to bake AO onto. What's happening is that the resulting map is completely black apart from the small bits that are actually going through the walls into the outside of…
Hey guys i'm currently modelling a room to be placed into unreal engine i'm not exactly sure whats the best way to pull it off. Should I use a cube/plane for each wall or should I create a combined mesh encompassing the room. As seen in the picture. This room is located in the basement of the ship connecting to a hallway…
I like the look of the telescope room too, but there are some elements to that room that might be too much for me to do in one month. That said, it's definitely my favorite out of all of them, and that certainly counts for something. It's important to find the piece exciting if you're going to work on it for a month. The…
Yeah, but I still have to make ten tons of things :) As the departure lounge is nearly done, I'm started blocking out the reception room. This is how it looks so far. The half of the room is still missing but there are 2 office rooms on the 2 sides, but they will be closed, so you can just look in through the windows.
Gettin spooky! Used UE4's displacement setting for the roof tiles because Epic decided tessellation wasn't needed :| Frankly I'm tired af of UV mapping planks lol. In hindsight, maybe I should have made a few planks, UV'd them, and placed those around the enviro. All my planks so far are from a trim sheet I sculpted.…
