Hey all! Today I received an art test from a studio in Austin, TX. The concept has some very vague shapes and lines in it, the sense of scale seems ambiguous. Yes art schools and liberal art school can be a brutal business. My issue is not much of the expenses or the degree, but rather the return value. For instance if you take careers in medicine, many end up in massive 6 figure debts of loan, but due to their positions(doctors, surgeons, etc) they can paid it off and continue… -

IMHO, when developing or working on anything of any worth, particles have always been the thing you have to constantly test and tweaking in engine to get that look. I mean look at the particle editors in Unity, or UDK. Super expansive. Just making a colored alpha in photoshop and hacking it into engine isn't really giving… -

My game of the year has to be Dead Space. For me it just came out of nowhere, and I really didn't know much about the game until late September, so my experience wasn't spoiled by previews and media. I admit it feels like Resident Evil 4 but set in sci-fi environments at it's most basic level, but it does a fantastic job…
