Thanks Stevston89, I've got some idea's for the skin when I come to work on it. Spent some more time today playing with colour combinations and lighting etc... This current one is sitting better with me. Gonna add wear, decals and all that jazz to :) Feedback welcome.
Once again I can only apologise for the delay with 2.0, I have been experimenting a little with a few features and getting some interesting results like this for example. I really want this macro to be the bees knees and be able to produce some outstanding results for you guys.
Two related options here: Trim sheet = a bunch of textures laid out side-by-side inside one bitmap. Decal sheet = same, except these are overlaid on top of another texture. Either via transparent edges, or buffered rendering (deferred rendering, stencil buffers, etc.).
Thanks! Some more random stuff... I think I like rapture props the most. That was a lot of fun to do. Like, this trash can, it's totally your generic trash can, but, its like, a hint of decoy hehe. Its just a fun style to do :3
@chus_orgaz Thanks for the advice, i Addded some glare to the lights, i think i will make the ceiling fmore dynamic so I will i will redo that also. @Noscope thats exactly what it needed. slight hints.. thanks for the advice. heres an update sorry about the delay.
segreto: thanks a lot, very ambitios help, but my settings are very similuar already. the lagg is almost only occuring when im zoomed in. then is 1-2 seconds delay if i turn on and off the visiblilty of a layer. if i zoom out there is no lagg. anybody knows why?
Well to put simply the delays were caused by me being homeless for a time. I want it to be rather action oriented, but not so much that the game feels rushed. Exploration is an important part as are all the many systems in the game. I have hundreds of cards on trello with my design.
I think it looks pretty good so far, the red is a bit striking, like Convict said. I think that an AO bake off of one of these instances would help the map immensely. Do you have plans for some decal textures to break up the tiling?

it's a beautiful game. initially the movement pissed me off since its delayed but it didn't take long to get used to. I'm only two hours in currently, haven't done much yet, haven't tried co op. but so far it's certainly pretty and a lot of fun
