games are usually budgeted at a cost vs return or sales projections so if a company wants to only invest 40 million in a game to get a certain return on their investment.....why would they go over by 10-20 million when they could recoup those costs as DLC? when I was making MP maps for SOCOM we guestimated that each MP map…
Hi there. I made my account back when I was very young and frankly I hate this stupid username. But I don't feel like making a new account to post what I feel is an important message. I hope you will read what I have to say. I work as a pixel artist and 3D artist, and pixel art has had such a gigantic brain-drain that…
it's just not true from my experience, there are more factors in play than security concerns. Of course having a company as partner gives some security, going after a company is usually more likely in some outcome than going after some dude in some remote area. Quantities is another thing, a studio can just carry a load.…
So... I read this entire thread and yup, I don't have a facebook so that would put me out of things. (dont like it,fb.) Managed to jump way ahead cause I had the free time and in 6 days this is what I had before I found out things happen. I was still going to go ahead and work on this cause i put a lot of my time into it…
I didnt say anything about you making enemy ZacD, I like your crits and looking forward to have you crit on my work so I can fine-tune my own stuff. ---@perna if you want to be analytical and objective possibly even productive comparing tools i gave you some ideas in my previous post. im not going to get into any max vs maya sword fighting. i don't think anyone is much interested in that sort of thing. most of the posts have been to the effect that it is a personal…
http://www.itchstudios.com/psg/art_tut.htm Maybe I'm out of place posting links here (sorry if so), because I'm surprised nobody posted this yet, but it's one of the most famous 2d digital painting tutorials on the web. Hopefully once you read it you will understand how important fundamentals and practice are. Also, I'd…
@Biomag That sculpt looks great, and could be very helpfull. Thanks a lot for the tip! @Geocat Wow, thank you so much for all the critique, links and references. I totally agree what you said about 3D.SK. I had the subscription for a year while a go, and I almost only used it with spotlight to paint base for skin textures.…
