Version 1.9 Features or Version 2.0
Can someone point me in the direction of the announcement confirming that some of the features I was expecting in the much delayed 1.9 have been abandoned and moved into version 2.0? And also, can someone point me in the direction of anything I can find that will tell me if I'm going to have to pay to upgrade to version… -

Blend layer question
Hey guys this is my first time posting on the crydev forums, So I was wondering if anyone knows if it possible to use the blend layer to have bricks show on a concrete mesh, kinda like in the picture . I thought about trying to do it with decals, but I dont know if I would be able to fake the depth better if I used a blend… -

Thanks for the feedback Ashervisalis, I will try and clean up the surface damage. other than that don't you think adding sharper roughness and discoloration looks repetitive? Usually, I do that sort stuff using decals when implementing this in the environment. I will give it a shot anyway and see how things look. :) -

Unfortunately, not the same. It doesn't smear out the edges of the map, instead it makes it like a decal on top of the diffuse color. So it blends with that color instead of with its own edge pixels. :( You can try Mirror instead, but you also need to offset it .5, and I don't remember that working very well. -

WTF? No offense to them but that seems to make no sense? I thought it was a delayed april fools joke :S What the hell is "ability to use high speed internet" Do they make you pay to have the site load faster? Or do you go sit in their gallery and use their internet? ...very strange ideas -

Tires usually don't last that long, especially in a hot, humid environment; consider making the 3 remaining tires to flat; something like this: Car windows can remain intact - and, indeed, pristine - for decades. There's no reason, however, that you can't add some visual interest with crazing, dirt, or even a slimy moss: -
Re: Texturing / creating materials in VR
The no normal map thing is basically normal maps are not a substitute for actual depth, you still need normal maps for lighting to look right on small scale details. You can't slap a decal of a vent made in NDO and call it good (which games don't really get away with as much anymore anyway). -

I love these, especially the tongue monster. Only critique I have is that they all look pretty monotone when it comes to color design. You should add more decals/patterns(mönster)/spots etc as well as more color variations on your creatures. Great work none the less, keep on posting!
