Here is some of my progress so far with the body and face : Not sure about the face so far, I'll make a few more iteration. Also a quick sketch of the overall skin : Not starting the real modeling before I figure out what I do with the face and the overall concept. C&C appreciated!
Dope characters!! Here's some pointers; Your skin textures and hair look like they're from an older gen. I've not made skin or hair materials/textures before so I can't advise you, but they look sort like you've got the same noise across the entire parts of the face. The skin under the eye would have a different texture to…
Finally my first game here at Soap Creative (my new job in Australia) is about to be launched. It should go online by tomorrow but I couldn't wait to already post some media of the game and a video. The game was created in 4 weeks and I was responsible for the development. I got some helping hands for the GUI and some of…
I've been a lurker here for quite some time now - I finally feel I have something of worth to show :) Plus, I saw that I'd been mentioned in the "faceting as a stylistic choice" thread, so I thought I'd show my face :) (thanks gavku) I've started work on an iPad + Android book with the working title of The Paper Fox. I've…
Hi Bagelhero! I think your designs are cool, but the faces you draw tend to be very similar, both male and female. As a result, your male characters are often a bit effeminate looking. On the other hand, your female characters tend to be a bit mannish. When you compare your facial divisions versus the average ideal, you…
Good advice from pior. Also your eyeballs look too small and are too low for the sockets. Eyeballs are really quite large and from the front they are large enough so that there is almost one eyeball space between them. Another way to sculpt the eye is to place them in the head of you model as a separate ztool, switch to…
22. Texturing: Value & Gradients Values and gradients are an important consideration when texturing your character, and are often neglected by less experienced artists. When you manipulate the values you can attract attention to specific regions of your model, such as the face and upper torso. This is especially important…
Traditionally I've found it more interesting to paint men, but I think that's probably more because there's generally more definition/detail, which has captured my interest much more than painting (or sculpting, it's all the same to me) girls. Women, well I mean it's usually just a very soft face with little in the way of…
I started by building a basic body shape out of a cylinder. The body was then constructed into a more workable shape with the base of the neck added. The arms were constructed out of a seperate cyclinder and then further defined to the muscle shape of the limb. The leg segments were also made before the attaching of any…
Looks great! I really like it. 2 things really quick. The inner part of the iris, the black part, is actually a hole with a clear lens over it, it reads (and bakes) better if you handle it as a hole not a bump. He's Two Face but right now more like 70% normal and 30% disfigured. Sure you can do whatever spin you want on…
