Anatomy progress update. Just starting on the face and ears. Ears need a lot and hands still need more shape. :3 After get the body down start on her armor. /O/ Have a lot of work to do with the face but where I am at currently.
Looking cool - a fan of the tattoos :) Are you using ZBrush for any of this? I ask because it might be quicker to mask out tight armor like that rather than worrying about the topology for those plates, which can be a pain. Either way though, it's shaping up.
After a nice thanks giving break, I'm back at work on the night hunter:) been referencing more medieval armor and refining the design. I wanted to have the sculpting done by December 1st, but at this rate, I probably wont finish the sculpt until next weekend.
ahh. cool. Ill use this as well! thanks. you may notice some odd curves and I suppose I should have posted the sculpt but the hand includes some armor/hard surface along the palm and back of the hand. that may be the anomalies you noticed.
thanks Man :D Initially the inspiration was diesel punk and Tor Fricks mech work, but the project has definitely shifted! I have changed my reference to be more like the fallout power armor and that 50s robot design for the clunkyness yet retaining smooth panels.
It's called "Shell"-modifer I think :) I usually create clothing and armor using it. Just extruding "poly-edges" over the whole character and then use the shell modifier. EDIT: I really should've read your post more carefully. Oh well. :poly136:
COSTUME REF: Photos of Traditional Japanese armor/art/depictions/kabuki/patterns/clothing..etc.. (Everything in the black box is Tengu specific) Some photos are different depictions of Tengu that I commonly saw. Also added in LoL Blood Moon art as an extra 'moodboard'.
This one was my first idea of an asian dragon hunter. The design inspired me so I started to do some concepts for the cloth/armor and tried a new technique for the values and color. Here're some progres steps. Have you any advice how to improve it?
well, yes, its kinda smoothed out right now... the one thing that pops into my eye on the last screen is his left knee in the front view (so the right one from our perspective) the armor directly upon the knee look bent inward?
Cool stuff, very good meshes! I think you should make some more textures, the armor guy looks impressive, will you finish him? Im not sure about the photo in the contacts page, i think you shouldnt look that excited, that is creepy!
