Ya, I do the same method as thatanimator as well. If you have some extra cash, i strongly suggest this dvd. It goes through the method and will show you how to do it all. It took my weight painting to the next level for sure. http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/store/product/468/#.UmE-UFCsjPo
I had to optimize the low poly because Dota has a 400 poly limit for the particular hero this sword goes on. When I took the low poly from zbrush, the thing had about 538 polys, so i had to cut some edges quite a bit. Is that what's screwing me up?
Not sure whats up, keep getting the same error message (// Error: file: E:/Program Files/Maya2016/scripts/LaunchCreasePlus.mel line 538: Object 'inViewGRP' not found.) when I hit me assigned hot key and i pasted the comment from the online doc, so i don't think its that.
Broadband quality isn't really consistent in the US and it sucks compared to the rest of the world. In 7 years I think my DSL speed has increased maybe 2.5 - 3 times in speed and I pay about $50 a month for it. 10 years ago 56k was as fast as you can get in my area.
I've got an Alienware M11x, light and super portable. I've got a perforated Rocketfish stand for it and it stays very cool. So true, in my opinion Unity needs two things to come as standard, a node based material system and a visual Scripting tool with a load of prebuilt goodies. Here are two great examples. 1, Shader Forge - https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/14147 2, Play Maker…
i7 2600k Palit GTX 560 2GB 60GB SSD 1TB HDD 16GB of DDR3 1600 G Skill Sniper Ram ASUS P8P67 LE Motherboard That it my setup, paid $1200 for it, and I love it to death, runs everything I need to. Also haven't found a game I can't run on the highest settings.
The problem with cutting more polys out is that you can zoom in very close to all the models in Dawn of War. The size I show is the default camera angle/zoom. The model this one is going to replace has a poly count of 3568 and is much more detailed including a mouth. The same models are used for up close in game cinimatics.
I want the plane and the grass to have the same color in the same areas. Basically the material is just 2 noise textures layered on top of each other, I tried to factor in the world position but I am confused how to use it properly, I'm trying to emulate the foliage in Airborn…
