Hi Everyone! Its been awhile
since my last update! I've been experimenting with some rigging
techniques to see if the head will move how I would like it to when I
come to pose the mesh. I did a quick animation test to show how the
head blades will pop out when the character is in battle mode, hope
you like it! Have a great…
Looks like those floaty shapes are tied to different blendshapes via expressions. i.e. the big blue circle at the bottom, dragging it up and down controls jaw close/open..the five circles at the top control different points along the browline. That's a nice rig right there (if it works as it should) but the setup is manual…
Hey guys ! As a big player and fan of Dota 2 i wanted to give a try to the Dota 2 workshop, so i've been doing a little courier with my partner Thomas Pradeilles ( rigging, animations ). If you like it and want to see this dudette in game you can support us and vote there ! :…
I wanted some robots to play around with in Unreal Engine 4, so I figured I would make some. I'm pretty terrible at texturing, and don't have much high poly experience, so any tips/tricks/secret voodoo magic is more than welcome. Ive decided four is the right number of robots to have. I have created them in 3ds Max, am…
I've found myself slacking quite a bit lately and feel I have to raise the bar on my work, so I've decided that my next project is to create an environment in UDK. I have been really inspired by the work on this site and I hope that I can meet the same quality this community sustains. Be it looking through the advice in…
Modo selections style in 3ds max. Assign a hotkey(or button), select 2 verts/edges/faces woth desired gap between them and start pressing your hotkey. :) http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/step-gap-vertedgepoly-ring-like-modo-selection Why I can't embed the video ?! :)
Speaking of good rigs : Anyone knows of a good (preferably free or reasonably cheap) continuous rigged human character for Max ? There used to be one made available from a game company, a blue soldier of somehow cartoonesque proportions IIRC. But I want to find something a bit more robust with good controls and…
Are you still applying for the maya ones? Most companies will let you learn on the job. I only knew maya at the start. Learned max on the job. Same with motion builder when I changed companies. animation is pretty similar in Maya though. It's actually better (in my opinion.) Graph editor is basically the same. s keys…
@marks I have respect for tech riggers, they seem like a rare breed. Rigging to me was the most frustrating starting out but the more I do the less excruciating it becomes... thanks for the info, I'll start thinking about that field as an option. @Kel-Shaded So I should embrace my generalism! Cool. I thought that was the…
I had this issue before. You may want to export out as a collada file. (.dae). What i would try tho, is baking in every keyframe and export that. The other thing you need to keep in mind is that you should have two rigs. A shadow rig and a deformation rig. Bake the keyframes to the deformation rig. I was able to export…
