This is a good start. I don't have any major critiques. I prefer the color schemes in some of your references to your concept, though it does have a certain patched-together feeling that makes the character interesting. People may draw comparisons to Link with the green tunic. It might be awkward drawing both swords from…
I think Figure Drawing for All it's Worth is a good place to start. Loomis is really good for proportions and methodical figure drawing with attention to big forms and planes. I second Blenderer. Your details are nifty!! but your big forms need some boxing in. I personally find this super hard to do in sculpting, easier to…
you might want to add a tiny little chamfer on the rubber band on it's edge because in rendering you actually never see edges so chamfering them makes it actually visible as a edge. It's one of these things about 3d that one can quickly forget becuase for us an edge is an edge - and if we were to draw an edge we would draw…
Open up polyboost tool bar. Go to PolyDraw[]. At the top of the new menu select the radio button that says "Surface" under "Draw On:". Click the pick button and choose the mesh you want to retopologize. This essentially lets you draw on the surface of your object instead of the default which is the ground. Hope this helps.…

[ QUOTE ] Okay I needed to turn on backface culling in the object properties. Why the hell isn't this a default? [/ QUOTE ] This has to do with the DX viewport speed improvements they made. It's much faster to draw polies with backface culling off because it doesn't have to test and find out which ones are facing the other…
Wow, this is just superb! Your breakdowns are a gift...Thank you!! I love the variety you are getting with your hair brush. Are you using a lot variations (imm's) or is it just one or two with a lot of tweaking after the fact? Also, are you drawing the curves on top of a rough hair blockout or no? It looks so clean and…
Concept artist or illustrator thats what you should be looking for and both are suitable for working remotely and there is plenty of work As concept artist you should be able to draw anything[which mean you have to show range and variety ] even tho some ppl specialized for example your environments are really good and you…
LOL I have to update this thread because I understand WHY seams and creases are made. OK First I must define Seams and Creases. Seam(s): to refer to a place on a surface where 2 materials or textures meet; in which the pattern of the pixels is broken causing a visible line. Crease(s): to refer to a place where CONFLICTING…
How long does it take to create all the poses of your concept art? Say for example; it is understood that if you have one idea you would draw it out roughly, than you would draw it repeatedly in different poses from different prospective(s). Finally you would use all of them as a ref to create the final piece the one you…
