Greetings to all artists, modelers, and hobbyists! I have been very intrigued with game dev for a long while and find myself playing around with programming and digital art in my spare time while studying my first year of music college. I took it upon myself (after a good deal of thought) to get a bit more serious about my…
Hello everyone! I would like to show off my recent UDK scene for some critiques and comments about my latest work. First, a little bit of history. Recently (around august) I decided to plunge deeper into my passion of game asset creation after being redirected to this site friends and seeing some of the marvelous work this…
Hi polycounters! Few days ago while watching stuff on 3d motive, I realized how great it would be for me to be more fluent with zbrush (especially for hard surface modeling) and to move away from my usual claytube/trim dynamic/orb crack workflow... So I decided to start as an exercise the modeling of a small and common…
Alright Guys, and Girls, Here we go. First Polycount Post Ever! And I'm starting off big. I'm an Aspiring Level Designer, and Enviornment Artist, and this is the single Biggest project I have ever taken on. This will easily take me 9 months (until i graduate)and will hopefully be the Highlight of my Demo Reel. as well as…
@WillDettrey Thanks for the response! I actually had just resolved the issue as you were messaging me. I had everything but the glass combined together so separating it all helped the glass read it better. I also had to segment the pieces that circled around the glass as for whatever reason they could not be read if they…
Great stuff, nufftalon! I really enjoy reading artist interviews. For future interviews, I would mirror Bek's suggestion. At the moment, this kind of reads more like a survey than an interview. Try to have more of a more natural conversation. Besides that minor detail, I really like what you're doing here. Can't wait to…
why aren't the posts marked as "read" anymore, when you read them? Seems like it's all depending on the date now. I liked it a lot better when only the ones you didn't read where highlighted. would be great if you could fix that. other than that the new forums rock! EDIT: oh and it would be great if the standard smiley…
I like these crits the best, they really hit home, and they do it in a funny way... I will work on this a lot, also I should study all the intricate uses of tiling textures. If anyone reading this has a must read on tiling textures please let me know in this thread or PM me. Thanks for the crits everyone, I read them all,…
I like it, you have some really nice character work. I like the old man bust a lot. The only thing I have to say about it is that your text is difficult to read at most times. Like in your picture you posted the font makes it hard to read right away. I would say go for a much cleaner easy to read font. But great work!
Our research lab is looking for an artist who can model a variety of kitchen tools that we'll be using as a dataset. Currently, we have a list of specific object types (bread knife, chef's knife, etc.) and for each type we need a few dozen models (12 - 36). The models should be recognizable and consistent with real world…
