the tires and brakes on my car wear out quicker, cost more, and are comparatively much lower end than my ssd. who cares if it wears out in 2 years? still very worth it on my minimum wage pay. -

Em, I doubt the people at Wallmart worked hard at gaining the necessary skills for years and years. I've certainly been quite pissed off when I did an art test and didn't hear back from the company. -

Re: texturing fur
I think the point is not how to bake/render/paint fur to a low poly mesh. The question is, what kind of model do you want to make? Do you have a specific target in mind? If, like your post suggest, you just want to make a lowpoly model (simple polygon surfaces) that looks furry, then consider looking at some great examples…
