How can I make real-life size screws in 3DS-Max, and I think another way to solve it is to design your own screw and 3D print it in steel. It looks like an issue of not enough geometry + position of the vertices. If it's meant for games then you've really gotta push and pull those verts to force the shading that you're looking for. For game rez models I often resort to manually cutting triangles in problem areas to force the shading into the way I want it.… -

Been testing GPULightmass myself recently. It's lightning fast compared to CPU. It deals with lightmaps a lot better too, and because it's brute-force directly on the GPU, that awful problem with lightmap seams, that was caused by multiple CPU threads, on flush modular elements is completely gone. Hey, just a quick question. I set my gfx card settings to force anti aliasing, but on meshes the shader is applied it isnt being forced on them. I am going to guess that this shader doesnt support it, but was wondering if there was some sort of quick "hack" to make it work. Do all shaders in Maya not support antialiasing?… -

I'm starting on the spaceship as I think I will be able to complete this and I want to try and understand metal better. I also plan to bring this into Zbrush once I have the basic model down. I think I will be mostly messing around in Zbrush once I got the modo model down, then I can try some normal mapping. -

All i know is, never ever force someone who is left-handed to be right-handed. One of my older brothers was a lefty too, but they forced him to use his right hand in school back when he was a kid. This caused some sort of learning disability and he never really became as good in school as he could have been. -
