UPDATE: I solved the problem. There were duplicate faces (of course there were, this is Maya) with mucky UVs sitting on top of the correct ones. Cleaned that right up. -

Changed my mind about the art and started changing the game to pure top down instead. Solves a lot of headache and I kind of like it better. -
Re: Reset mudbox camera?
Go to Object List > Perspective Camera > 2D Transform > 2D Angle should be zero. I had this problem last night and this is how I solved it. -

Happens to me too on my laptop. Not sure what the deal is...tempted to reinstall and see if that solves it. Do you have any of the service packs installed? -
