If I understand correctly I think you need to split these to separate subtools. Also try the local symmetry button. -

If there is a texture, it would have its own material property that you'll need to fill using the Tool: Texture Map: Fill Mat button. -

Sinking - There are many videos about this on youtube. Actually you just need to press the build lighting button to get the lightmaps baked btw. -

I think no way to define this any button, but if hold Alt, the caddi use lower amounts, if hold Ctrl, use larger amounts. -

Silly question, but isn't hold down MMB pans, and scroll mouse button zoom, or do you have that set to something else? -

Cool tip. Yeah it's the craptastic cage. Doesn't prevent the Projection mods from being an instance, but that's easy to fix (Make Unique button).
