Thanks Eric i was coming on in to say that appreciate it, yes please everyone just make your pick into one of the theme's spoken of, tribute/MadMax dystopia. No 1:1 entries is the issue, we want to see what you can do with the theme suggestions. Thanks everyone this is cooking. (back to conceptualizing)
Hello Eric, I am posting wireframe of brick, Wall with less detail ( I used destroyed part here but you can guess geometry of solid wall based on that) and wall with more detail. Even the lowpoly wall does have some extra vertices due to vertex painting. And for the refference image, I am adding link. My aim here is to…
It depends if you're doing only game or also VFX work. I'm guessing that VFX people would also buy shading scripts or bridges between some production programs. Here's some of the stuff that I have used and I'm still using in Maya. I can't recommend Fansub enough, his scripts are really (really!) useful. Quick Pipe as a…
I'd also advise that art is an iterative process. Planning can save some time but if you don't have lots of experience it's hard to predict how a project will go, and that makes planning less useful. For a student project I'd do as Eric suggests and treat it as if it was a one off asset so at least there's art to look at,…

The problem with making a tutorial on your own is that, most of the techniques I know were discovered out of neccesity, on a commercial task, and it might not always be the best one. If someone posts their technique, others can make…

Thanks man and everyone here involved. When i teach i keep sending people to the…
Thanks for the tips @Eric Chadwick! I originally had the stones as tileables but wanted to get a seamless transition between the sidewalk slabs and stones. 100% agree though that I lose alot of variation using the tileable. The point of vertex painting was nice. Perhaps I could do that for the slab/cobblestone transitions…
