The dynamesh resolution is depending of the size of the mesh, because there is a kind of cage around it if I remember. If your mesh is bigger than the cage or too small, the dynamesh won't work properly. To have the good size, try to set your mesh as the same size of any zbrush primitive. For example, append a PMD3D sphere…
Then pick a lower resolution size and dynamesh again with projection on. Like Dimfist said, at the beginning it isn't very wise to use a crazy high resolution (that is, except you know what you are doing). I don't know what your end goal is, a bust or a whole figure but either way get all the form you need in place first…
From what I know, I don't think you can return to lower subdivision levels. Dynamesh is really just the "Remesh all" button gussied up a little. You can't even "Reconstruct Subdiv" because the model will usually have triangles and, due to the way it builds the mesh surface it would be really ugly anyway. You could…
I think you can use any mesh you want since the dynamesh mode was in the subtool palet. It's just that after remeshing it, you get that very dense topology that is great for clay sculpting (with trim dynamic, clay tubes, clip brushes etc...), but from what I understood you lose all your levels of subdiv. You can of course…
Hey guys, I've decided to start a sketchbook thread here primarily to get some feedback. :) I've recently finished my degree in Games Design at university, and now seek to get better and better, with a goal of breaking into the video games industry whatever way possible! In the future, I will post work both here and in the…
@Firebert Thanks for the tips. You're right, I probably should have stayed at a lower sub-d level for longer, but I got excited to start adding some detail, ha ha. I'm not using Sculptris Pro at the moment, and I tried to use Dynamesh on this subtool a couple pf days ago, but I got some weird results around the trim I…
Might it just be that the model is hollow and not a solid for dynamesh? I deleted the eyelashes, closed all holes in the mesh and dynamesh worked fine for me. My computer sucks too but if you increase the max poly per mesh in prefrences, run dynamesh (i generally leave my computer and come back cos if i touch it it always…
It's not but I guess there's a little bit of influence from pixar characters (including brave). That's the quality I'm aiming for at this point. Right now it's pretty rough and a lot of dynamesh. Next step on the body is to make retopo the body and crisp where it needs to be and smooth where it doesn't using proper edge…
You could Dynamesh/Remesh at a lower resolution. If you go the dynamesh route, do it on a duplicate subtool. Don't worry about getting all the detail from the head transferred over; if need be you can turn off dynamesh afterwards, subdivide it once or twice, and then project the detail from the old tool back to the new one…
You don't have to start again ^^ solution 1 : maybe you have already tried this but to get a better smoothing brush press maj, start smoothing and while still smoothing release the maj key. It usually gets rid of annoying pinches. solution 2 : copy your sculpt. Run dynamesh on one of the copy at low res. Divide the…
