Gotcha. Was curious if it were even possible to do that with decals. Like have just a normal map by itself with no diffuse or anything and have it projected. -

You're plugging the AO into the diffuse channel of your material? I don't see why it would be affecting the normals. It shouldn't, in any way. -

Started working on a sword, textures will be handpainted diffuse only. Quite happy ho the model turned out, albeit maybe a bit highpoly. -

Basically Spec and Gloss work together contributing to overall look of the label. Diffuse of the label is a photo ref. composited over dDo pass. -
