Maya 2018, lag?
Hey guys, just installed the student licence/ version of maya 2018. However oddly enough I'm getting quite a bit of lag without anything going on in my veiwport (empty scene.) Which is odd, since I just finished building the pc and the components are all fairly high-end. Any idea what could be causing this låg? -
Rendering normal maps in Maya...how?
Can anyone recommend a good tutorial on rendering normal maps in Maya? By that I mean in mental ray or vray or any sexy renderer. Tired of printscreen. Cheers T -

Maya's interactive creation in 3ds max
Anyone know if there is a way to just click on a primitive in Max and have it appear at 0,0,0 rather than creating it? Like in maya you can turn off interactive creation. -

Ive looked everywhere for a tutorial on this and came up dry. I know you have to an obj. but how do you get Maya to make one? I don't have Max so I can't export it there. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. -
Maya OBJ Export not in Position
Hey everyone, when exporting my grenade with Maya as an OBJ file, the grenade is not in the right position. The embossing (red) should be on the side, but when exporting the grenade is turned by 90 degrees and laying on the grid.. hope you can help me.. greets -

reduce draw calls on mesh instances from maya in UNREAL

Uggo Shadows In Maya Viewport - Why?
When I toggle on "textured" in maya's viewport panel I get these hella gross hard shadows. Can I turn this off or adjust it? Or have I broken something?
