I would just like to say that this has been shown to be the same thing whether it shows triangulation or not. Crytek staff stated it is the same consumption in memory on proxies regardless if you combine or do so like this thread states. -

You can have a boolean or enumeration in the enemy char blueprint, that would change when it needs to go into different state. Then in the anim blueprint, you can just get that variable from the owner of the anim bp, and use it in a state machine. -

I agree with you beefaroni. What is most important is how the artist responds to the state of being overwhelmed. What you have said so far is an excellent example of things that I would do myself when I get in that state in order to overcome being overwhelmed. -
