Yep, Montreal. Thanks for the insider info sir-knight and everyone else, this information is very interesting. I'm realizing more and more just how much other factors can play outside of simply your portfolio, or even your interview. Just gotta put yourself out there and see what these hiring tendencies are. I should note…
like mentioned, marmoset is where you should do the baking, not zbrush. no need to retopo mid sculpt unless you are are fighting topology - but zbrush has dynamesh, sculptris pro, remesher to handle those cases. so keep it simple as possible.
Again, some time passed since last update. The longer I wait with updates, the more likely it is I miss stuff or don't post at all because then it's too much work scraping together the images  I shall try to post more often, less mixed content maybe - will make it more structured too. Anyways, what has happened…
Being a girl, on top of being a computer user, I suffer from chronic migraines(migraines being more common in women). First thing I would say to do is one, go to a doctor, I got on some meds that cut the frequency of my headaches down by like 90%. Polycount really is different from other communities, and I value what we have here. People work hard, share, give real…
Something i think gets too easily misunderstood here is this: The point of modeling a highres to bake out your normals isnt so you can go in and sculpt little rust stains in mudbox, infact that sort of fine detail stuff is generally pretty counter productive to do in a sculpting app, you can do it easier and with more…
I tried to use Sampler few times through years and never found it any helpful really . Uninstalled it to save space. Just read it got some new AI upscale and photo to material . Is it worth a new try? Any better than before. Something that could take 2x2 meters megascan material and turn it into covering 10 meters long…
More practically, I highly recommend focusing on Environment/World Art early on, but only if you really can see yourself enjoying it. I've been looking through a lot of job positions this year and most of the junior and mid positions open are mostly environment postiions. The other ones are looking for Seniors level.…
To preface this “article” : Everything stated here is totally anecdotal, as in, based on my own experience and what I observe\talk\learn through other professionals. It DOES NOT necessarily represent my current employer views nor i speak on their behalf, this is opinionated and seen through the glasses of my own individual…
