I got the Ultimaker 1, building it was the best part so far! The use will be a bunch of engineering related stuff, building an internet radio at the moment and being able to customize every tiny part in the chassis really helps, another project will be an advanced wristwatch. The big dots are places you should merge, its hard to tell but at the front you could remove that top line where I have squiggles by merging it down to 1 line. For the extrusion thingy you should do something like that, the inner box should be pulled out of course and generally tighter I made the spaces between them too… -

It's ctrl+shift+drag now. Doesn't make much sense and isn't even unified across different tools, but it is what it is. Ideally, you'd simply be able to switch Smart Extrude to that new combination and reassign the old behavior to shift+drag, but I haven't found a script or plugin for that. Might not even be accessible.… -
Re: Maya Extract behaving oddly
Just tried in Maya quickly. Switch to face selection, select all faces, then deselect just one (I think this helps Maya to not get confused as suddenly the mesh you are doing this to doesn't exist?). Now use Extract. You should get a pop up that shows 'Keep Faces Together', you'll want to turn that to 'Off' If not you can… -

I found the bevel/extrude,.. command very unintuitive almost like as bad as in maya. It would be nice if one could slide the bevel amount out of the object instead of having to type the value each time and try/error if it works.
